The Lakota term for this project is Ake Okiciyuwastepi Wolakota Tipi. Its
literal meaning is "house of people who come
together again to share and to bring peace and
goodness." The goal of the project is to build a place
where all people can gather to work for better cultural
understanding and improved justice.
The Reconciliation Place is being built on

of the Sioux Nation by Congress. This breakthrough
